Fundraising Partners Northwest understands that the three critical components for success in any fundraising effort are relationships, an effective case for support, and teamwork.  We focus on strengthening these components by offering a comprehensive range of fundraising services that support and enhance your organization.  We will help to clearly articulate your organization’s unique needs, and prepare a strategy for meeting your goals by combining tested practices with original ideas.  Fundraising Partners Northwest provides a full range of services, from intensive campaigning to limited counsel.

We offer professional guidance for every component of your development activities, including:

Feasibility Studies and Market Assessment

A successful feasibility study or philanthropic market assessment provides valuable information to help an organization plan and prioritize needs by providing the comprehensive or program-specific insight necessary for fundraising success.  Designed to answer critical questions relating to the case for support, campaign leadership, organizational strength, internal readiness, community climate and timing, feasibility studies and market assessments involve key stakeholders, community and business leaders, philanthropists, public officials and others who are invested in the organization’s mission.

To conduct a feasibility study or market assessment, FPN professionals develop a set of strategic interview questions and guidelines to ascertain existing levels of philanthropic support as well as barriers, detractors, and other pressures that may need to be addressed before fundraising efforts are initiated.  The feedback provided by carefully selected interviewees is then analyzed to provide the base for building a compelling case for support in order to launch a successful development effort.

Strategic Planning

The professionals at FPN help guide an organization through a strategic planning process, enabling board members and key staff to participate without having to worry about running a meeting.  It is critical to have both the board and staff involved in the planning process, so that the board is comfortable approving the plan and the staff is ready to implement it!  Our team works with you to identify a facilitator, establish a timeline and develop a list of desired outcomes.

Board and Staff Development and Training

Fundraising Partners Northwest works on all aspects of board development and training.  We start by assessing current strengths, making a list of skills and talents reflected by the board and then identifying board recruitment needs.  Individual and group board evaluations are essential during this stage and to ongoing board development and planning.  The next step is to provide structure by writing job descriptions, cultivating committees, assigning tasks, setting up recognition procedures and ensuring that all board members are invested and committed to the mission of the organization.

Communications Counsel

A broad-based public relations and/or marketing communications campaign that raises awareness and conveys how programs positively impact individuals, businesses and communities helps support the life of an organization and the success of a campaign.  FPN professionals work closely to determine the appropriate level of communications and media exposure necessary to build momentum and energy for a fundraising effort.

Services often include developing the campaign brand (logo), theme for campaign collateral materials, professional presentation packets, letterhead and envelopes, media relations strategies and tactics, and campaign newsletter masthead and style.

Donor Relations and Stewardship

Successful fundraising grows out of many strong relationships.  The relationship of the organization with the community, the relationship of the board with its peers, the relationship of the staff with the audience served.

More than 75 percent of most organizations’ funding comes from individual giving.  Accordingly, the primary focus should be on this audience.  FPN professionals provide guidance on all types of donor contact: face-to-face, mail, telephone, events and no-cost cultivation activities like tours, private home events, meet and greets, etc.

Our team works with the board and key volunteers to make sure that an existing donor is the one to ask others for financial support, and that everyone soliciting contributions shares a love of the organization.  We make sure that donors do not only hear from an organization when money is needed, but that regular contact is made to provide awareness, education, cultivation, conviction, solicitation and stewardship.

Funding Proposals

Corporate and foundation funding is often an essential component to an organization’s development program.  Grant proposals must be well written, well timed and well delivered.  The professionals at Fundraising Partners Northwest help identify qualified corporate and foundation partners, both regionally and nationally, then develop a timeline and strategy to pursue each prospect.

Major Gift and Planned Gift Development

A major gift is any amount that is significant to an organization.  Even a gift that starts out small can grow into a major gift with the right kind of stewardship.  Given the right reason and opportunity, donors who contribute on a consistent basis are often ready to make a major gift.

A successful major gifts program relies on a compelling case for support – or reason to give.  It is the basis for educating prospective donors and motivating them to contribute.  Once the case for support is ready and prospects have been targeted, then it is up to a well-trained team of people to cultivate each prospective major donor, make the ask and follow up.  The professionals at FPN stand ready to assist you with each step in this process.
