Case Study: Rossi for Governor

In a state where there has not been a Republican governor in more than 20 years, former Washington State Senator Dino Rossi came close to turning the tide. Building on the foundation of the 2004 effort, the partners of FPN continued their work with the Rossi for Governor campaign in 2008. Using their strong technical fundraising expertise and solid in-state donor relationships, they worked with the campaign team to build a donor database larger than any other political campaign in the history of Washington State—55,000 individual, corporate and PAC donors gave more than $11.5 million in just over 12 months. Ninety-one percent of these contributions were from Washington State. This huge accomplishment was a result of a dedicated and structured candidate, a statewide finance committee of more than 270 people, over 150 events as well as comprehensive mail, phone and web programs.
